Explosive On Court Skills

Supplemental resistance training applied to volleyball skill drills will enhance the overall performance of volleyball technique.

Drills are developed to correspond directly to the movements during a match.

Why not add resistance to them to strengthen muscles, tendons, and ligaments utilized and make the movements quicker and more powerful?

The SmartVest/SmartShorts offer on-body, natural-feeling resistance with women's and men's models and respective custom sizing. A custom, guaranteed fit is accomplished by supplying your height, weight, and actual waist size. Custom sizing eliminates shoulder stress and simulates the pure, natural feel of your own body weight. You will not find a higher quality or better fitting weighted vest and shorts.

It is a great tool to increase vertical jump, court conditioning, match stamina, and multi-direction speed.

This form of sport-loading allows the player to execute specific footwork movement drills while wearing the vest. Note: recommended starting weight is 4 lbs. Then you remove the vest and repeat the movements at normal body weight. Loading and unloading, often called contrast training, forces the neuromuscular system to adapt to both aspects of the movement. This mind/body education results in an increase of both force and velocity. You will be quicker and more agile. Your reaction-response time will shorten. You will be a more valuable player.

Keep reminding yourself to maintain proper footwork fundamentals and practice, practice, practice, and repeat, repeat, repeat. Make the movements automatic and efficient.

Included with every order is a FREE booklet, How to Make Your Volleyball Court a Condtioning Facility. This is terrific reference material for coaches and players. Eight chapters show you how to use different products on your court, training effects (power, mobility, agility/footwork, strength/stability/proprioception, recovery/endurance), a menu of exercises,  and program development considerations (reps, loads, & rest). The final chapter shows how to bring it all together with sample programs utilizing the products based on seasonal considerations. (Chapter 2 is weighted vests).
