Mind & Movement Training
Never heard of it? That's right, you have not! It's a new form of training that focuses on teaching and training you how to think the game and then how to move. The goal is to teach athletes how to move with a purpose. The Mind & Movement Series currently has 2 videos w/programs. The All-Sport video is designed to teach any athlete how to move. The drills are designed to improve your speed, quickness and vertical jump. The Basketball video & program are presented to help you master the mental skills and movements specific to basketball. This is about improving your total game. You will run the court like never before, jump higher, be quicker, and raise your level of play. You are going to be one "happy hooper".
We are also very excited to announce a new video series that will be coming out in the spring. This will be the next step in your plan to master the mind and movement connection.
What is it? Once again, basketball movement is defined by one's ability to read a situation, create a plan/move in your mind, and automatically get your body to respond quickly and strongly to performing the move. It involves all parts of the game. Both sides of the ball. We call this process, neuro-muscular mapping. These new basketball programs will give you more of that power. MovemenTraininGear
All of our sport products are designed to awaken your mental and physical awareness. The SmartVest & SmartShorts are distraction free products that allow you to focus on your game. Their job is to strengthen the movements you are mastering in the training program. By starting with 2-4 pounds and progressively adding 1-2 pounds every couple of weeks, you will safely and strongly build explosive power into your movements. The agility ladder is used throughout the program to teach footwork and speed. The medicine ball, especially the 6 pound (3KG) model, is great for building sport specific movements (rebounding, dribbling, & passing). The training videos illustrate drills used with the ladders and balls. Note: you don't have to own a ladder or a medicine ball to run the program successfully. But you do need to OWN the.....
Basketball
How do you control it? Imagine a large puzzle with each piece of the puzzle being a particular basketball skill you need to master. To become a complete player, you must understand the mental skills and movements necessary to master that particular basketball skill. Once you learn these skills, the challenge then becomes your ability to visualize a move and trigger your body to generate the necessary movements to execute it. How confidently, quickly, and strongly we perform the move will define your success. Again the video is designed to train you on these skills.
Coach Yourself
Seek out coaches who can help you improve. Ask for their advise, feedback, and specific things you can focus on to better your game. Be your own coach, look inward to understand how you think the game and what feelings and thoughts elevate you to play in the zone. Great players learn to move with a purpose. They think and feel the game. They're in touch with teammates and understand the strengths and weaknesses of their opponent.
The Coach
Your tools are patience, wisdom, and a passion for teaching the game. They allow you to reach the players you coach. In addition, you look at a player and determine their strengths and weaknesses. You create a plan/script to move players toward mastering the skills and then the game. It's through this learning process that players are empowered to play the game, and will gain the faith that they can make it happen. The feeling all winners embrace.
